Louis has been issued three patents with one more patent pending. The first patent is for the flushing units that VFL uses for the core business. These pumping systems incorporate variable frequency drives which aid in the ablilty to control the pressure (upto 15,000 psi) and flow (.5 to 12 gpm) for pumping of virtually any fluid. Therefore, this transportable equipment has multiple uses, flushing hydraulic contol lines to a SAE AS4059D, Chemical injection for flow back, replacing control line fluids in umbilicals, and pressure testing of control line and components.

 

The second patent is for the F.A.S.T. pipe cleaning tool. This patent has partners that reside outside of VFL. This tool is under development and expected to go online by the first of the year (2012). It will assist a coiled tubing operation in cleaning out long lengths of subsea flow lines for the Susbsea Oilfield industry. We incorporated Inventor and Algor programs for the 3D moldeling and analysis of the tool. Utilizing Algor's fluid analysis package allowed us to optimize the nozzles. The results were excellent.

 

The third patent is for a Dynomometer, which will be used to determine the usable horsepower for newly built race engines. These engines will primarily be used for Sprint Cars. This patent has partners which are: Eddie Vickio and Louis Vickio Sr. Our father, Louis Sr. performed the calculations for shaft and bearing sizing at the young age of 91. That's right, 91! The calculations were to insure that the first harmonic (natural frequency) was never reached up to the design speed of 10,000 rpms. This is nearing completion and should be available for comercial use by the first quarter (2012).
